You Twit!

I have always been a fan of Roald Dahl books. I can specifically remember visiting the library once a week at my elementary school, fingering through the well-ordered card catalog, and finding a new book each week. It was the best!

This past week, I stumbled upon an old favorite that I haven't read in years. It's one of Dahl's underrated titles, but it's still one of my all-time childhood favorites. It's full of slapstick humor, wacky characters, and lots of mischief. Did I mention the unique drawings throughout the book are fun and will have you laughing non-stop?

The Twits follows Mr. and Mrs. Twit, two mean, unhappy people who are miserable and love to make everyone around them miserable, as well. Their favorite activity of enjoyment? Both Mr. and Mrs. Twit love to play pranks on each other, and throughout the read, each prank is more outrageous than the next, as the couple try to out-do each other. In addition to pranks, Mr. and Mrs. Twit train monkeys, and you do NOT want to know what they do with birds (or do you?). For more fun and laughs, "check out" this book for bedtime giggles with your kids (pun intended). It's an oldie, but goodie. Plus, Dahl presents a timeless message that the world desperately needs to hear today:

"If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams, and you will look lovely." - Roald Dahl

Needless to say, keep the positive vibes going (It's Hump Day!), and hang in there! The weekend is coming, and don't be a twit! Xoxo, Amy
