Allow me to geek out 90's style:
"Now this is a story all about how, my life got flip-turned upside-down, and I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you how I became a prince of a town called Bel Air."
That's exactly what you get, plus a WHOLE lot more in Will Smith's new memoir, Will. It's a New York Times Bestseller, and I can see why. Allow me to let my Goodreads profile do the talking (follow me here on Goodreads- https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/60005001-amy).
"Oh my gosh! Y'ALL! I did NOT want this book to end- that's how much I loved it! I literally enjoyed every single page. I am a 90's kid, and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" was my JAM! I thought I couldn't love Will any more, but the further I got into this read, the deeper my admiration and respect for this man grew! Yes, there were a lot of laughs and fun times (the bathtub and fiberglass leg cast incident KILLED me!), but I was pleasantly surprised and enlightened at Will's depth and intelligence. I don't want to give too much away, but Will had a really good childhood ("In West Philadelphia Born and Raised" is just barely scratching the surface of all he went through). As time goes on and he makes a name for himself, he walks through some storms and trials, but he learns and grows. I love the fact that he's not too big or too cool to show his human, flawed "perfectly imperfect" side to readers. I was cheering by the end. Throughout the book, the most important, beautiful message remains "Let Go and Let God (WORK)!" I highly recommend EVERYONE pick this up!"
If you're looking for a new read, 90's kid or not, I highly recommend Will's story. You will not be disappointed. Actually, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how personable and relatable he is, proving that we truly are human (warts and all)!
I hope everyone has an awesome week! God loves you and so do I! -Amy
