What I love most about January (ironic because I'm writing this on the last day of the month) is the fact that it symbolizes a new year. Like the bible says, God is always making all things new, including this year. The endless possibilities and fresh start have me pumped up, don't get me wrong, but the actual month of January is not my favorite- long, cold, blah. Plus, January is the month of the anniversary of my Nana's homegoing (of course, it's ok, I know where she is :) ). This month was a doozy- I got the flu the first week of January, and my mom had to have two surgeries on her eyes (she struggles with glaucoma).
While this month has been a time of some anxiousness and "God, please, give me something else...," He, in fact, did give me something else:
Patience
Compassion
A new understanding that I am on His time and schedule, which is waaayyy better than ours
Trust that God is going to take care of us, no matter what
He's here now and sees what's down the road, so we don't have to worry; we just have to keep going, knowing He will meet us every step of the way
True healing power and miracles- God is still in the business of both; He won't stop\
To be still and let Him do His work.
The amazing power of prayer (it never stops blowing me away)
Last (but certainly not least)- Reassurance that He loves me and all of His children
Love and blessings to everyone! I'm so grateful that we serve a powerful, mighty God that knows exactly where we are and meets us right there, in the good, bad, and ugly.
Peace and joy,
-Amy (Ephesians 3:22 MSG)
