Hi, friends!
Today was the perfect Sunday- church, napping, and another baking project.
This Christmas season, I’ve been trying to bake and spend less for gifts, especially since it will help out my personal holiday gift budget. Plus, I enjoy baking, so any excuse to do it, and I’m in!
I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes for chocolate pie. It’s not only delicious, but it only requires a few ingredients and takes just 30 minutes to make. Plus, it’s my sweet 95-year-old Grandaddy’s favorite. He’s definitely getting one this Christmas!
Easy chocolate chess pie:
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 stick melted butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. evaporated milk (or a small 5 oz. can)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. each Shredded coconut and pecans (optional)
In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and cocoa. Add butter and mix well. Stir in eggs, milk, and vanilla. Pour into pie shell, and sprinkle with coconut and pecans, if you wish. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until center is firm and set. Enjoy!
