All About Me

Maria did say that the beginning is a very good place to start, and I agree (sorry- my inner musical fangirl is showing)! Anyway, allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Amy, and I seek to live life to the fullest every day. Before I became a librarian, I taught first grade in a public school for four years, which I thoroughly enjoyed! After earning my M.Ed., I decided to explore other passions, which led me to my public library, a.k.a. dream job. I have been with my library system for six years this past October, and I absolutely LOVE it! Not only do I get to be around so many books, but I also enjoy the moments I get to connect with my amazing work family and patrons. Through this, I've realized it's not only the books that tell the stories, and I have also come to value and treasure hearing everyone's personal story that walks through those doors.

When I am not "librarian-ing," I enjoy reading (SHOCKER!), as well as journaling, shopping, spending time with friends and family, attending my local church, sleeping in whenever I can, baking, and enjoying music/movies/TV shows of all kinds. I also enjoy travelling, especially when the beach, mountains, or Walt Disney himself are involved. If I had more money, I probably would consider myself a full-time traveler. I forgot to add that I'm an only child, so I'm very close to my family, and I adore them all very much.

My mom said it best, "you can choose to be happy, or you can choose to be miserable." She's right (as always), so I'm definitely choosing to be happy because life is good, only because God is so good!
