My nana was a lovely, gracious, beautiful, intelligent, and amazing woman of

God. I have so many wonderful memories of her, and I thank God for the 22 years I had with her. She was my biggest cheerleader, and not only did I learn so much from her, but she was one of the first influential people in my life who lead me to Christ. 11 years ago today, she was called home to

Heaven, and I am so glad she’s my special guardian angel watching out for us.

Today, I dedicate this blog and post to the fabulous lady she was, with ten things I learned from her (there were way more than 10, but I had to make it fit here LOL):

1. Don’t mess with God’s will.

2. Life is about change. Nothing stays the same except God.

3. Save your tears for something important.

4. People can change; always give someone the benefit of the doubt.

5. Remember to always keep a $20 bill in your purse for an emergency.

6. There is nothing like the power of prayer.

7. The key to good fried food (i.e. chicken, shrimp, etc.) is that the oil must be very, very hot and the perfect temperature.

8. Never use foul, crude language (and also don’t tell someone to shut up).

9. Don’t try to play God.

10. Family is everything.

Today, I celebrate you, Nana. In honor of you, I’m going to continue to live and love and share the love of Jesus with everyone. Your legacy will live on. Your ”sugar baby sunshine girl” loves you always!
